Jaguar Land Rover is set to cut about 4,000 UK jobs over two years, with the redundancy programme due to be announced on Monday.
That is roughly an eighth of its 34,000 UK staff and part of a 1.7 billion pound savings push, after June-quarter pre-tax profit fell more than two thirds to 109 million pounds under United States tariffs.

Autoline Industries won a new business award from Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles for SUV components worth about 100 crore rupees of annual incremental revenue.
Parts will be built at its Sanand plant in Gujarat and cover both petrol and electric SUVs, so the programme does not depend on which powertrain the buyer picks.

Tata Motors secured the last regulatory authorisation for its 3.8 billion euro tender offer for Iveco Group's commercial vehicle business.
TML CV Holdings B.V. received European Central Bank clearance for indirect qualifying holdings in IC Financial Services SA and CNH Industrial Capital Europe SAS, both French specialised credit institutions. The UK Financial Conduct Authority cleared its part in January and the Bank of Spain gave a non-objection in June. The offer is all cash and excludes Iveco's defence business, which goes to Leonardo. Regulatory risk on the deal is now largely spent; shareholder acceptance is the step that remains.

August vehicle dispatches rose sharply across the industry, led by commercial vehicles and utility vehicles.

Maruti and Hyundai both landed below street estimates on total volumes even though domestic growth ran well ahead, because exports carried the difference.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles will raise car and SUV prices by up to Rs 25,000 from 1 September.
This is the third revision of 2026, after a 0.5 percent weighted average increase on 1 April and up to 1.5 percent on 1 July. It covers both the ICE and the electric range. The company says it continues to absorb a significant share of rising input and operating costs and is passing on part of the impact. Three hikes in five months traces the pace at which cost is moving through to the sticker.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles restored normal operations at its Sanand plants and supplier facilities after the July flooding.
Damage is being put at Rs 35 crore to Rs 40 crore with an insurance claim under Rs 30 crore, both called non-material. Sanand builds the Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and Sierra, so a halt that began on 27 July closes with no material hit flagged to production or financials.

Separately, Tata Motors is close to a broader Stellantis partnership, with its Avinya luxury electric cars set to use the Chery-backed Freelander platform via JLR for a 2027 launch.
23 Jun 2026
Tata Motors unveils the production Sierra EV on 30 June, priced near 18 to 25 lakh rupees between its Curvv and Harrier electric SUVs.
The timing matters because Mahindra just overtook Tata on FY26 EV revenue at 15,089 crore rupees versus 14,995 crore, despite Tata leading on volume.
21 Jun 2026
Tata Motors said it secured over 3,400 electric commercial vehicle orders across segments, roughly 2,000 small commercial vehicles and pickups, 900 trucks and 500 buses.

Tata Motors EV bookings jumped 25-30% since the West Asia crisis began in March 2026.
