Indian passenger vehicle wholesales crossed 4.7 lakh units in July 2026, a record month and about 33 percent above July 2025.
Maruti Suzuki sold 241,421 units with domestic dispatches at an all-time high of 200,123, Hyundai posted its highest-ever 75,360, Tata's passenger vehicles rose about 58 percent and Mahindra sold 103,860. Two-wheelers ran with it, TVS at 629,675 against 456,350 and Bajaj at 474,677 against 366,000. Hero was the one miss at 533,416 against an estimate of 555,050, so the volume is broad but not uniform.

Mahindra and Mahindra will sell its truck and bus division to listed subsidiary SML Mahindra for 525 crore rupees on a slump sale basis.
Mahindra keeps manufacturing the trucks under contract, so this consolidates commercial vehicles into one listed platform rather than exiting the business.

Mahindra sold 1,06,207 vehicles in June 2026, up 37 percent year on year.
SUV sales rose 28 percent to 60,393 units. Commercial vehicles grew 35 percent and tractors 12 percent to 59,935. Both the auto and farm arms are running ahead of the industry.
