Adani Power

Adani Power won the letter of award in April at Rs 6.30 a unit and has now assigned it to Powerpulse. The contract moves 2,500 MW of long-term supply from one listed Adani entity to another.

GVK Energy owns a 330 MW hydro plant in Uttarakhand through Alaknanda Hydro Power. Adani was the second-highest bidder and won after Purvah Green withdrew its 5,750 crore rupee plan.

Both sides of the transaction sit inside the group. The buyer is the Adani Enterprises data centre joint venture and the seller is Adani Power, so an infrastructure asset moves off the power book and into the data centre build-out.

The supply comes from a 2x800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal plant to be established on a design, build, finance, own and operate basis. Coal linkage for the plant is allocated under the government's SHAKTI policy. The agreement follows the company's 15 March 2026 intimation, which was the letter of award stage, so today converts that award into a signed long-term offtake. A 25-year contracted offtake underwrites the plant's economics well before it is built.
