Thangamayil Jewellery reported 344.16 crore rupees of sales over the three days of Aadi Perukku, against 156.75 crore rupees in the same period last year, a rise of 119.55 percent.
Gold prices are up roughly 45 percent year on year, so a 120 percent jump in revenue means the quantity sold rose as well and this is not simply a price effect. Aadi Perukku is a Tamil Nadu festival and the company's stores are concentrated in the state's southern districts, which makes this a narrow regional read rather than a national demand signal. It is also a voluntary three-day disclosure, so it cannot be annualised or treated as a quarter.
