Sterlite Technologies board approved about 3,000 crore rupees of capital spending to lift manufacturing capacity 50 percent by the end of FY29.
The spend targets global optical fibre cable demand, and it is the first large capacity commitment since the company spent two years cutting debt rather than adding lines.

Sterlite Technologies signed a 288 million dollar long-term contract with a global hyperscaler to supply high-density optical fibre cable across 2027 to 2029.
It follows a 1.11 billion dollar hyperscaler award in May, and both carry capped liabilities either way if demand or capacity falls short.

Sterlite Technologies won its UK patent case as the EPO revoked Fujikura's patent in full.
The European Patent Office's Technical Board of Appeal revoked the patent in a final, non-appealable ruling that ends the infringement case over STL's Celesta cable family; STL is now pursuing recovery of its legal costs.
