Sona Comstar will transfer its two and three wheeler EV business to subsidiary Sona Comstar eDrive for 893.2 crore rupees, and DENSO of Japan will buy 49 percent of that unit at an enterprise value of 1,750 crore rupees.
A second joint venture, held 51 percent by DENSO, will build liquid-cooled traction motors and inverters for cars and larger vehicles. DENSO brings electrification depth that Sona does not have in the four wheeler segment. The subscription price marks the EV arm at nearly twice the transfer value.
