The boards of Power Finance Corporation and REC approved a scheme to merge REC into PFC, with REC shareholders receiving 88 PFC shares for every 100 REC shares held and no cash component.
The combination would create a power-financing entity with a loan book above Rs 11 lakh crore, though the scheme still needs shareholder, creditor and regulatory approvals.
