HPCL, BPCL, and IOC have seen daily losses ease after 3 staggered fuel hikes since May 15.
Before the hikes, combined under-recovery was running at ~₹1,000 crore/day. The first hike of ₹3/litre alone cut losses to ₹750 crore/day, a 25% reduction from the pre-hike level. Cumulative hikes are ~₹4.8/litre on petrol and diesel. Losses still persist at around ₹600/day.
