Hitachi Energy India began building a 2,000 crore rupee large power transformer factory at Karjan near Vadodara, targeting commissioning by financial year 2028.
The capex follows a 157 percent jump in financial year 2026 profit and answers a global transformer shortage that is stretching grid expansion worldwide.
