Hindustan Construction Company secured a 524.17 crore rupee contract from NHPC at the Salal Power Station in Jammu and Kashmir, covering civil and hydro-mechanical works to make the concrete dam's undersluices fully operational.

The contract runs 27 months and returns the company to a site it built itself, having commissioned the 690 MW Salal hydroelectric project there in 1987.
