ICICI Prudential Life's first-year premium rose 53.3% to Rs 2,701 crore in September, while HDFC Life's rose 36% to Rs 4,000 crore.
The mix differs. ICICI Pru's retail APE grew only about 1%, so group and single premiums drove the jump, while HDFC Life's retail APE grew about 24%.
