Neuland's board separately approved an irrevocable, unconditional and continuing corporate guarantee of 40 crore rupees in favour of Gland, securing Neuland's payment and performance obligations under that agreement. The guarantee is the detail that matters, because it converts what the joint press release calls a strategic collaboration into a binding arrangement with money and dedicated capex behind it rather than a memorandum of understanding. Under a loan licence structure Neuland owns the product and the customer relationship while Gland provides the sterile manufacturing capability, so the two are combining Neuland's API franchise with Gland's injectable capacity rather than competing for it. Neuland records the guarantee as a contingent liability with no immediate financial impact.

The generic addresses a 1.6 billion dollar branded market, but at least three players launched within 48 hours, so pricing erodes fast.
