India's domestic air traffic fell 3.47% year-on-year in April 2026 to 1.38 crore passengers from 1.43 crore in April 2025, per latest DGCA data.
IndiGo's market share rose to 65% in April from 63.3% in March; Air India Group fell to 24.7% from 26.2%. International passenger volumes dropped 39.3% and international flights fell 37.2% year-on-year in April; weaker international traffic also reduces domestic connection demand. IndiGo is gaining share in a contracting market. Indicates structural cost advantages.
